Community fund - how to apply
What is the Community Fund?
We have promised a sum of £100,000 each year for the next five years to be spent on projects or facilities which improve the quality of life for local residents. We are inviting members of the community to put in bids for a share of the funding.
What kind of projects of facilities will be considered?
Any project of facility will be considered if it improves the quality of life in some way for local residents. It must also:
- be financially sustainable in the long term
- be accessible to all
- have the support of local people
- support the community in displaying our values of partnership, respect and pride.
Projects or facilities will be given higher priority if they involve:
- young people
- the provision of further housing and community facilities, which could include play areas and open spaces
- match funding from other services/organisations.
How do I apply?
You can apply for a share of the funding by filling in a simple Community Fund application form.docx [docx] 62KB with details of your proposal. You will be asked to give as much information as possible to support your bid and show how it meets the criteria above.
There is also a helpful sheet on how to complete the form here: How to apply for the Community Fund.docx [docx] 61KB
What happens next?
The application will then be presented to a panel of Board members, senior staff and other interested parties. The panel meets quarterly to consider proposals. You may be asked to come along to talk about your project or facility so that we are fully informed about the proposal.
You will be advised within 14 days of the panel meeting whether or not we can support your proposal.
