Neighbourhood Awards

We want to recognise the members of our community who are helping to improve their neighbourhoods, and the lives of the people who live in them. That's why every year we have our Neighbourhood Awards, so that we can give recognition to the people who really make a difference. The competition includes awards for the best gardens to recognise the people who go the extra mile to make their gardens stand out and improve their local area.

Winners will be presented with their awards in September and will also receive an invitation to our Annual Get Together.

If you would like to find out more about these awards you can call our Engagement and Volunteering team on 01494 476221 or email:

Neighbourhood Awards 2017

Neighbourhood Awards judging

This year’s Neighbourhood Awards have been a huge success and we can’t wait to celebrate the nominees and winners at our event in September.

This years’ competition includes awards for the best gardens, to recognise those who go the extra mile to make their gardens stand out and improve their local area, as well as our ever-popular junior garden competition that schools across the district can enter. We introduced a new nomination process this year, where we asked applicants to provide us with five good quality photos of their garden and tell us a bit more about the story of how their garden came to be. We then had a shortlisting day where we chose the top five gardens from each category to judge.

On 17th July, our panel of judges went out in the sunshine, judging the wonderful shortlisted gardens around the district. We deliberated and chose the winners who will be presented with their awards and gardening vouchers at our event on 26th September! It was a great day and so nice to speak to our customers about the love that has gone into their gardens, and see how hard they have worked to get them looking amazing. They truly improve the look and feel of our communities.
