Leaseholder Investment Programme

Before we became Red Kite, we told tenants and leaseholders that we would be carrying out extensive major works to our housing and estates. Leaseholders have been consulted on the appointment of contractors we have selected to carry out these works and we’ve been working hard to plan the programme.

We have listened to the Leasehold Interest Group members who have told us that they would like leaseholders to be told as soon as possible what major works will be carried out in their area. This will help leaseholders budget and save so that they can pay their contribution. We are pleased to publish our initial programme of planned works to buildings and communal areas for the next 10 years - this has been split into internal and external work:

If you are a leaseholder and we plan to do work and your contribution will be more than £250 then you will be sent a legal notice called a Section 20 Notice. This legal Notice consults you on the work and provides you with an estimate of your contribution.

Our Major Works Payment Policy sets out our approach to recovering major works costs from leaseholders.

Some leaseholders may be entitled to financial assistance from our regulator the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA). Further information about their scheme can be found on the HCA website here!
